The Lion and the Lamb: A Grand Vision of Redemption

The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them.

The cow and the bear shall graze, their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

The nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put its hand on the adders den.

--Isaiah 11:6-8

How will all this happen? It's almost to optimistic to accept as a reality. The animosity between the wolf and the lamb, the calf and the lion, these are of the natural order of things, right? It has nothing to with human sin and fallenness, with the weakness of the love of God in the human heart, right?

The vision of Isaiah 11:6-8 has got to be a metaphor, right?

How big is your vision of the redemptive power of God? How big is your vision of the power of love?

They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain; because the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord (i.e., love) as the waters cover the sea.

--Isaiah 11:9

    I love the video.

Your take on it was exactly right. I watched a couple of other clips of it and surfed around in regards to the story. People think it's cute and touching and amazing, and all that, but I think you captured the significance of what is going on here. Creation is groaning in anticipation for the revealing of the children of God. What a beautiful thing.
