Forrest Gump and Christian Doctrine
We Missional/Post-Evangelical types are not big fans of the overuse of doctrinal statements and systematic summations of the gospel.
(...also, we don't like being called "Missional/Post-Evangelical types,"...)
I've written elsewhere about why this is so. But I recently saw a clip on YouTube that made the point better than I ever could.
Doctrine, I think, is to the gospel of Jesus Christ what this is to Forrest Gump:
Watching this, I know the facts of the story...
I do not, however, know the story.
And that's all I have to say about that.
Grace and Peace,
Raffi

Couldn't have said it better myself.
